Origins

Down from the Himalayan alps, where the cold glacial rivers complete their descent and spread across the lowland riverbanks, our community farms a stretch of fertile plain that the mountain built at its own feet. This is where our ਪੇਪਰਮਿੰਟ (Peppermint) grows in moisture, warmth and mineral-rich soil at the Himalayan foothills — among the most productive environments for growing aromatic crops.

Peppermint came to our community through the forest department initiatives, and it did not take long to make it part of our daily life. On cold mornings, the elders in our sangha brewed ਪੁਦੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਚਾਹ — a peppermint tea with infusion of dry leaves, black pepper, ginger and cardamom. The steam rising from the cup cleared their nasal passages before the tea was even drunk. Similarly, fresh leaves, just as they were plucked, were chewed to freshen the breath, a handful of them were steamed in water, and inhaled with a cloth draped over the head to clear a cold and ease a runny nose. The dried leaves were also crushed into paste to calm burns and inflamed skin in their ਢੋਕ (hamlets), applied as a cooling face pack for acne and bristling summer heat, and worked into the scalp to soothe itching and clear dandruff.

The step toward distillation followed our pursuit to carry it beyond our fields. Our ਪੇਪਰਮਿੰਟ ਤੇਲ (Peppermint Oil) was now used to make toothpaste — the same reason the leaves were crushed to freshen the breath by our Sangha — and herbal soaps, hair oils, pain relief balms, cool minty candies, ointments and organic room fresheners.

We grow it today with the same care that has governed everything our sangha has ever cultivated on these sacred lands, and offered our traditionally distilled ਪੇਪਰਮਿੰਟ ਤੇਲ with the same goodwill as the ancestors — from the fertile plains, in the shadow of the mighty ਹਿਮਾਲੇ (Himalay).

Signature Aroma

The first breath is an instant burst — crisp, sharp and cooling, far more concentrated and far more present than freshly crushed mint leaves, which are its closest earthly reference point. The sensation moves through the nasal passages and into the chest with a speed and completeness that no other oil in our product range matches. There is no ambiguity here. It simply arrives whole and at once, the way the cold glacial Himalayan water touches the cheek — pure, immediate and entirely clarifying.

Then, as the burst settles within minutes, subtle green and grassy undertones emerge beneath the minty aroma — quieter, earthier, carrying the character of the leaf and the lowland soil it grew in. These are the gentle notes, grounding rather than stimulating, that hold the entire experience of the ਪੇਪਰਮਿੰਟ (Peppermint) in something that's living and plant-rooted.

This is why it is found in the spaces where the first impression and the moments spent there truly matter — airport lounges and hotel lobbies, aromatherapy wellness centers, meditation retreats and luxury boutiques, where the freshness and deep clear breaths are required every moment to make people feel grounded.

Testing Document

Every batch of our peppermint essential oil is sent to CSIR-CIMAP, Hyderabad, for Gas Chromatography testing.

Every plant compound is identified and measured. Every batch is confirmed for purity and found to be free of adulteration.

The complete GC report is published openly within the product catalogue — because an oil made honestly deserves to be verified the same way.

From Our Hands

You hold the ਪੇਪਰਮਿੰਟ ਤੇਲ (Peppermint Da Thel) drawn from the glacial-fed plains at the foot of the Himalayas, and distilled by a community that has carried this traditional wisdom since the time of their ancestors.

Seeds go into the warm fertile earth at the end of winter, in the same lowland fields where the thulasi is also sown. Within three to four months the crop stands ready — by June and July, carrying the season's accumulated warmth and moisture within them. Our sangha harvests together, cutting just 10 to 15 centimetres above the ground, leaving the roots of peppermint undisturbed to regenerate rapidly. Within 90 to 120 days the crop is ready again. A second and final harvest comes before the winter's return.

No chemicals. No pesticides. The same organic care that governs everything our sangha grows — because we believe, what goes into the earth comes back through the plant, and what comes back through the plant reaches the person who holds this bottle.

After the harvested leaves have been dried overnight in the shade, they are carried to our 500 kg distillation unit, where dry wood is lit beneath the furnace and the still is heated for four to five hours. The hot steam moves through the peppermint biomass, drawing the oil from within its leaves and passes the steam through cold water in the cooling pipes, and condenses — drop by drop — into the receiver below.

From 500 kilograms of peppermint, 3 to 5 liters of essential oil are obtained.

The ਪੇਪਰਮਿੰਟ ਤੇਲ (Peppermint Da Thel) is then carefully collected by our sangha and stored in aluminium cans in the cool, dry shade of our farm storage sheds — until it reaches you, pure and untouched.
